Cray Wanderers host Stockport County in the first round of the FA Cup, BBC News reported. 112 league places separate the two football teams. Cray Wanderers reached this stage of the competition after qualifying against Bedford Town following a 0-0 draw on 17 October. [1]

The match marks the 78th FA Cup campaign for Cray Wanderers, according to BBC News. The club had tried and failed to reach the first round of the competition 77 times before this season. [1]

BBC News reported that Cray Wanderers were formed in 1860. They are one of the four oldest football clubs in England, as well as the oldest club in London that is still in existence. Organised football evolved from a casual pastime into a sport during the mid-19th century. [1][5]
