Karl Lindsay, a former chief executive of Taunton Town Football Club, has pleaded guilty to offences connected to the drugging and rape of a woman by her husband and other men. BBC News reported that the 56 year old admitted the offences at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court. The crimes took place between 2015 and 2025. [1]
According to BBC News, Lindsay's offending involved the rape of the victim by her husband and others in the Stockport area of Greater Manchester. He also admitted administering substances to stupefy the woman so that sexual acts could be carried out against her. Lindsay resigned from the non-league Somerset football club before he was charged. [1]
The victim's husband, who is in his 60s, cannot be named in order to protect his wife's anonymity. BBC News reported that he has already admitted 62 offences against her. As FTMQ News reported earlier, the husband drugged his wife without her knowledge for over two decades at their home in Stockport, and 13 other men were also charged with sexual offences. [1][4]
Earlier proceedings in the case have seen other men face charges in court. As FTMQ News reported previously, a 74 year old man pleaded guilty to rape at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court, while four other men went on trial accused of sexually assaulting the sedated victim. [3][4]
