BBC News reported that passengers on a train initially remained seated and thought a man was joking when he told them he had been stabbed. Anthony Williams, 33, of Langford Road in Peterborough, is accused of stabbing 10 people on a London-bound train that made an unscheduled stop in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, on 1 November last year. [1]
According to BBC News, Cambridge Crown Court heard that the first victim, Jonathan Gjoshe, later asked hospital staff if he was going to die today. Jurors were shown CCTV footage of the attack on the train traveling from York to London King's Cross. Williams denies 10 counts of attempted murder relating to the train incident, alongside four other attempted murder charges from earlier incidents in London and Peterborough. [1]
As FTMQ News reported earlier, Williams is on trial at Cambridge Crown Court facing 14 total counts of attempted murder. CCTV footage shown to the jury previously depicted train staff member Samir Zitouni using a frying pan to defend passengers during the stabbing. [4][5]
FTMQ News also previously reported that a passenger had texted transport police about a man behaving erratically the night before the attack. The jury heard testimony that Williams had claimed no one was as bad as him on a train the day before the incident occurred. [5]
