Two West Cork road schemes have been deferred until 2027, the Irish Examiner reported from a Cork County Council document. The report also reveals that several regional flood-prevention projects are yet to get under way. [1]

The delayed works include a road realignment at Dromdeegy on the R585 and improvement projects at Boher/Scart on the R572. Both schemes fall under separate local programmes that target road safety and climate resilience. [1]

The Cork County Council report tracked infrastructure progress up to 30 September. The official document did not offer a reason for either postponement. [1]

The delays follow other recent regional infrastructure developments. As FTMQ News reported earlier, workers demolished the Maryborough Hill bridge over the October Bank Holiday weekend to advance the 456 million euro M28 Cork to Ringaskiddy road scheme. [5]
