Tipperary hurler Séamus Kennedy has confirmed his retirement from inter-county competition, irishexaminer.com reported. The 33-year-old club player for St Mary's, Clonmel won three All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championships with his county. [1]
According to irishexaminer.com, Kennedy played a prominent role in the All-Ireland senior victories of 2016, 2019, and 2025. He earned an All-Star nomination during his debut season in 2016, when he started at half-back in the final victory against Kilkenny. He started in the same position in the 2019 final against the same opposition, scoring two points. [1]
irishexaminer.com reported that Kennedy also won an All-Ireland minor football championship in 2011. In the 2025 hurling final against Cork, he came off the bench to assist in the victory following his recovery from a torn cruciate injury. [1]
