West Cork man jailed for six years over fatal playground clash

The Irish Examiner reported that Patrick Fitzpatrick of West Cork was jailed for six years for his central role in arranging a brutal and violent clash in a Wicklow playground. The confrontation occurred at the Ballywaltrim playground in Bray. Fitzpatrick pleaded guilty to violent disorder following the incident. [1]

During the clash between the two armed groups, 36-year-old William Moorehouse died after he sustained five stab wounds, according to the Irish Examiner. The court heard that Moorehouse was a father of seven. Fitzpatrick's barrister described the clash as alternative dispute resolution between the two groups, rather than a Traveller feud. [1]
