Classic cars parade in Almeria for annual vintage rally

Around 40 classic and vintage cars have taken to the streets of Almería for the 36th edition of an annual rally, Euronews reported. Spectators watched as vehicle owners started their historic engines to celebrate more than a century of motoring history. [1]

Highlights of the event included a rare 1905 Vermorel owned by local collector Pepe Moreno, according to Euronews. The vehicle is normally displayed in a museum located in nearby El Ejido. [1]

Euronews reported that the rally featured several other notable automobiles, including a century-old Franklin, an early 1950s Chevrolet, and a late 1920s Nash. The parade also showcased vintage Mercedes-Benz and Rolls-Royce models, alongside a DeLorean DMC-12 sports car. [1]

Rallying is a form of motorsport that involves navigation tests, speed tests, or reaching destinations at prescribed times, with events ranging from single-venue trials to multi-thousand-mile cross-country routes. [2]
