Oklahoma City Thunder player Chet Holmgren will miss eight to ten weeks after receiving a biological treatment for a small patellar tendon tear in his right knee, Fox News and the New York Post reported. The Thunder stated that Holmgren began experiencing knee discomfort after playing against the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday. According to the New York Post, citing ESPN reporter Shams Charania, Holmgren underwent the medical treatment on Friday. [1][3]

The injury adds to significant roster setbacks for the Oklahoma City Thunder early in the NBA season. Fox News and the New York Post both reported that the team is already prepared to play without Jalen Williams and Cason Wallace, who could potentially miss the remainder of the regular season. Williams underwent surgery after suffering a dislocated left ankle, the New York Post reported, while WSLS and the Bozeman Daily Chronicle noted that Wallace underwent shoulder surgery. [1][3][6][7]

As FTMQ News reported earlier, Jalen Williams was previously stretchered off the court during a 108-101 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers after landing awkwardly on his left leg late in the fourth quarter at the Paycom Center. [8]

The loss of Holmgren leaves Oklahoma City without one of its main players as the team attempts to manage several long-term absences from its core lineup over the next couple of months, Fox News reported. [1]
