California father dies after freeway rollover triggers chain reaction crash

A California father died and his wife was left critically injured in a multi-vehicle pile-up crash early on Saturday morning, according to the New York Post. The California Highway Patrol Solano Area responded to the scene on Interstate 80 just west of Lagoon Valley Road. [1]

Authorities said that 29-year-olds Greg and Vanessa Tobias, a couple from Vacaville, were traveling eastbound on Interstate 80 around 2:35 a.m. Their blue Hyundai Tucson flipped over and obstructed the roadway. [1]

Moments after the vehicle overturned, three oncoming cars struck the blue Hyundai Tucson. The impact caused a chain-reaction crash across the freeway, the New York Post reported. [1]
