Milwaukee Brewers manager Pat Murphy criticized the New York Yankees during the team's World Series celebration, UPI and the New York Post reported. The interaction occurred on Wednesday at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida, following the Brewers' 4-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 5. The win secured the first World Series title in the 57-year history of the Brewers, as FTMQ News reported earlier. [1][4][7][17]

The interaction was recorded on camera as first baseman Jake Bauers handed Murphy the baseball from the final out of the game, UPI reported. According to the New York Post, Murphy embraced Bauers, who played for the Yankees in 2023, and commented on the player's upcoming free agency. [1][4]

The New York Post reported that Murphy told Bauers to remember his time with the Yankees and claimed players on that team were playing for themselves. UPI noted that Murphy told Bauers he was going to be rich as a free agent. [1][4]

Patrick Thomas Murphy is the manager of the Milwaukee Brewers and previously served as the interim manager of the San Diego Padres, as well as the head coach at Arizona State University and the University of Notre Dame. Before winning Game 5, the Brewers had previously dropped Game 4 in extra innings after leading in the 13th inning, as FTMQ News reported earlier. [13][18]
