Former police officer Beau Lamarre Condon told a fellow officer that he loved him and that not everything in the news was true a month after his arrest, the Guardian and the Daily Mail reported. The 31 year old accused asked another police officer how law enforcement would respond to reports of gunshots days before the alleged killings. Lamarre Condon has pleaded not guilty to two counts of murder and one charge of aggravated break and enter, according to the Guardian. [1][2]

Lamarre Condon is accused of fatally shooting Jesse Baird and Luke Davies with his police service weapon in Paddington on 19 February 2024, the Guardian reported. The Daily Mail reported that forensic biologist Lisa Ann Wedervang told the court the service firearm contained three sets of DNA, with Davies identified as a major contributor to DNA found on the barrel of the weapon. [1][2]

Jurors in the trial visited Baird's former rental home in Paddington on Friday, according to reports from the Daily Mail and OUTinPerth. Justice Natalie Adams told the jury on Thursday that it was important to see the evidence in context, the Daily Mail reported. [2][3]

Baird was an Australian television presenter who worked on Network 10 programs, including Totally Wild, Gamify, and Studio 10. He was also an Australian Football League goal umpire who officiated 62 matches. As FTMQ News reported earlier, Lamarre Condon previously asked a friend to dispose of a mobile phone the day after the alleged murders and had visited a rural property in Bungonia months before the incident.
