A Sydney court has heard voice notes sent by former police officer Beau Lamarre-Condon in the days following the alleged murders of Jesse Baird and Luke Davies, the Guardian reported. The recordings were played to the jury in his double murder trial on Tuesday. [1]
The Guardian and Daily Mail reported that the voice notes were sent to a man Lamarre-Condon met on a dating app. In the recordings, Lamarre-Condon stated that he was in bed and not feeling the best or not feeling great. He also stated that he was trying to get back into a positive mindset. [1][2]
Lamarre-Condon, who is 31 years old, is accused of fatally shooting the couple with his police service weapon inside Baird's home in Paddington on 19 February 2024, according to the Guardian. Baird worked as an Australian rules football goal umpire and as a presenter and reporter on Network 10 television programs including Totally Wild, Gamify, and Studio 10. [1][3]
As FTMQ News reported earlier, Lamarre-Condon has pleaded not guilty to two counts of murder. The trial has previously heard evidence about a three-minute phone call between Lamarre-Condon and police before his surrender, as well as forensic testimony that Davies was a major contributor to DNA found on the barrel of the service firearm.
