The Sydney double murder trial of former police officer Beau Lamarre-Condon entered its third week as jurors heard forensic evidence about gunshot wounds and physical evidence. According to the Guardian and the Daily Mail, Lamarre-Condon has pleaded not guilty to the February 2024 murders of his ex-partner Jesse Baird and Baird's new partner Luke Davies. [1][2][3]

The Guardian reported that crime scene officer Greg Moon coordinated a forensic search that located the remains of both men in rural New South Wales. The court heard that marks from a gun fired at close proximity were located on Jesse Baird after his body was found. The Daily Mail added that jurors were shown images of the bodies stored inside surfboard bags. [1][2]

Police forensic expert Senior Sergeant Bridey Allan testified that biological material from Luke Davies was found on the trigger and handle of the accused man's Glock pistol, according to the Daily Mail. She confirmed that DNA from both Davies and Lamarre-Condon was present on the trigger, while DNA from Davies and Baird was identified on the muzzle. Defence lawyers previously stated that Davies grabbed the weapon and accidentally shot himself, but prosecutors allege Lamarre-Condon shot Davies through a door. [3]

Additional evidence presented to the court detailed events prior to the deaths. According to the Daily Mail, Senior Constable Nicole Harv testified about a November 2023 social media post where Lamarre-Condon allegedly staged a photograph of flowers to imply Baird had sent them. Baird later confronted Lamarre-Condon after a friend sent him a screenshot of the post. [2]

Baird was an Australian television presenter on Network 10 programs and an Australian Football League goal umpire who officiated 62 matches. As FTMQ News reported earlier, Davies was 29 years old when he was killed, and a detective wept in court during earlier testimony while describing the location of the bodies. [6][8]
