Thousands of Asos customers received a mobile app notification claiming the retailer had been hacked, RTE reported. The message was sent directly to users' phones and titled Asos hacked. [1]

The notification directed customers to a Telegram account and contained a message addressed to the company data protection officer and IT team, RTE reported. The hackers claimed to have fully compromised the company Snowflake instance and threatened to leak the data unless company officials engaged with them. [1]

Shares in Asos fell by more than 10 percent following the alert, according to RTE. As FTMQ News reported earlier, media outlets contacted Asos to determine the extent of any compromised customer data. [1][2]

The alleged incident involves the cloud firm Snowflake, which stores data for major companies, RTE reported. Snowflake has been targeted in several recent data breaches, including an attack on Ticketmaster that resulted in stolen customer details. [1]
