Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Bernie Sanders Introduce The Strokes in Queens

Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Senator Bernie Sanders made a surprise appearance on October 2 to introduce the rock band The Strokes in Queens, New York. Rolling Stone, NME, and Consequence all reported that both politicians spoke on stage before the concert took place at Flushing Meadows Corona Park. During the introduction, Sanders praised the band for standing up for economic justice, fighting racism, and recognizing healthcare as a human right, as reported by Rolling Stone, NME, and Consequence. Rolling Stone and Consequence both reported that Ocasio-Cortez welcomed the group as the greatest rock band of our generation.
