BBC News reported that 19 year old Johannes Natland was sentenced at Woolwich Crown Court to 20 years of detention on Friday. The teenager travelled from Norway to West Yorkshire in March 2025 to carry out a hit for an organised crime group. He was unanimously found guilty of conspiracy to murder following a retrial. [1]
According to BBC News, Natland was arrested in a Huddersfield hotel room in March 2025. Officers found him with two working guns and 19 rounds of live ammunition. He had previously admitted to charges of possessing firearms and ammunition. [1]
BBC News reported that a jury heard Natland was recruited by the Foxtrot Network. The group was described in court as a Swedish organised crime network backed by the Iranian regime. [1]
As FTMQ News reported earlier, Iranian backed plots have recently faced prosecution across Europe. A court in Hamburg jailed two men for espionage and attempted murder after finding them guilty of plotting to attack German Jewish leaders on behalf of Iran. [3]
