The brother of a man on trial for the murder of an 80 year old pensioner testified that he confronted the accused before contacting gardaí, the Irish Examiner reported. Seán Harding, aged 32, of Marian Terrace, Tipperary Town, denies the murder of Teddy Murnane at St Michael's Avenue in Tipperary Town on September 12, 2025. The Irish Examiner reported that Mr Harding's brother told the jury that the accused said, "Don't tell the mother," during the confrontation. [1]
The Irish Examiner reported that Mr Harding has admitted to the unlawful killing of the 80 year old and has pleaded guilty to manslaughter. He has also admitted to three burglary related offences arising from the event. [1]
As FTMQ News reported earlier, the Central Criminal Court previously heard testimony from the victim's wife, Margaret Murnane, and his son. She testified that she held her husband and prayed after finding him unconscious near their garage following a burglary outside their home in Tipperary Town. [5]
