A woman diagnosed with multiple sclerosis is facing severe pain after running out of her medication due to a nationwide supply shortage. BBC News reported that Jill Kenning has been unable to source Nabilone, a drug she has relied on for 17 years to manage her symptoms and maintain her daily life. [1]
Kenning ran out of the drug last Tuesday and has spent most of her time in bed since then. BBC News reported that she experiences constant eye pain, which she described as feeling like being stabbed with a hot poker. [1]
The shortage is affecting patients across the country. Northern Ireland's devolved health department confirmed that disruption to supplies across the UK has left Nabilone out of stock with wholesalers. [1]
Multiple sclerosis symptoms can lead to severe misdiagnoses and treatment challenges. As FTMQ News reported earlier, actor Christina Applegate revealed that she spent over five years managing debilitating symptoms under a misdiagnosis of multiple sclerosis before new medical technology proved otherwise.
