President Donald Trump announced a new submarine component repair center in Cleveland, Ohio, during a campaign rally in Youngstown on Monday. The Washington Examiner reported that the Department of War selected the location for the facility. Trump stated that the site will manufacture, repair, and maintain key parts for submarines. [1]

The announcement comes as Trump campaigns for Republican candidates in Ohio ahead of the midterm elections. MSNBC reported that Trump made his second trip to the state in two weeks to support candidates running for governor and the Senate. Between Trump and JD Vance, the pair have visited Ohio three times in the past two weeks, according to MSNBC. [1][3]

Trump stated that the facility in Cleveland will cover 46,000 square feet. Cleveland developed into a major industrial center for steel manufacturing and iron ore processing due to its location on Lake Erie, though heavy industry later declined after World War II. [1][12]

As FTMQ News reported earlier, Trump has been conducting a series of campaign rallies across the country ahead of the November midterm elections. Media outlets including Fox News, PBS NewsHour, and the Washington Times all covered Trump speaking at the event in Youngstown. [4][5][6][13][14]
