President Donald Trump is returning to North Carolina on Tuesday to campaign for Republican Senate nominee Michael Whatley, according to reports from msnbc.com, NewsNation, and The Guardian. The visit comes as part of a seven state campaign tour two weeks before the midterm elections. Whatley is running in a difficult race against Democrat Roy Cooper. [1][2][10]

According to msnbc.com, a top Republican super PAC and other major party spenders have redirected their resources away from the state. Despite this shift in funding, Donald Trump is continuing to support his handpicked candidate in an effort to boost Republican turnout. [1][2]

The campaign push follows an appearance in Hendersonville, North Carolina, by Vice President JD Vance, the Washington Examiner reported. Speaking at the Hyder Warehouse, JD Vance campaigned for Michael Whatley along with congressional nominee Laurie Buckhout and state Representative Jennifer Balkcom. The Washington Examiner also reported that JD Vance announced nearly 900 million dollars in Department of Transportation disaster relief funds to help the state recover from Hurricane Helene. [4][5]

The campaign visits come during a wider national push by the administration. The Guardian reported that Donald Trump announced eight billion dollars in economic aid for farmers struggling with high diesel costs connected to the ongoing United States war on Iran. As FTMQ News reported earlier, Donald Trump has been conducting daily rallies across the country ahead of the November elections. [1][14]
