Skyscanner names Bilbao Wrocław and Bordeaux top budget destinations for 2027

Euronews reported that Skyscanner has unveiled its list of the best-value travel destinations for 2027. The cities of Bilbao, Wrocław, and Bordeaux topped the list for budget-conscious travellers. The rankings were compiled based on the percentage price drop for economy class return flights booked in the first half of the year for travel throughout 2026, compared to the same period in the previous year. Travelers choosing these cities could save up to two-thirds on flight prices and accommodation stays, Euronews reported. Despite the ongoing cost of living crisis, travel remains a primary priority for many Europeans. Instead of reducing the total number of holidays they take, people are selecting different destinations to reduce overall spending. [1]

Bilbao is the largest city in the Basque Country in northern Spain, with a population of 347,342 as of 2024. The city underwent significant regeneration starting in the late 20th century, highlighted by the 1997 opening of the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao. [2][5]

Wrocław is the capital of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship in southwestern Poland and had an official population of 672,545 in 2025. Bordeaux is a port city located on the river Garonne in southwestern France and serves as the capital of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. [3][4]

As FTMQ News reported earlier, other travel companies have also released predictions for 2027, with Expedia naming South Lake Tahoe in California as its top global destination after searches increased by 195 percent compared to 2025. [6]
