Jet2 Charter, the charter arm of the low cost British airline Jet2, has introduced a business class only aircraft based out of Liverpool John Lennon Airport in the United Kingdom. Euronews reported that the company unveiled the service following demand from specialist groups as well as the sports, music, and entertainment sectors. [1]
The specially configured Boeing 737-800NG aircraft contains 76 business class seats, according to Euronews. Regular Jet2 aircraft of the same size fit 189 seats. Each seat on the new charter aircraft provides a minimum of 43 inches of legroom. Jet2 does not offer business class seating on its standard regular services. [1]
Premium class cabins have been surging in popularity across the aviation industry. Euronews reported that other carriers, including BeOnd and La Compagnie, also offer all business class flights. A low cost carrier typically operates with an emphasis on minimizing operating costs and sacrifices traditional luxuries to provide cheaper fares. [1][4]
