During the game, Green Bay wide receiver Christian Watson briefly left the field after suffering a chest injury on a 53-yard reception in the first half, CBS Sports reported. Love was selected 26th overall in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft out of Utah State University. Love grew up in Bakersfield, California, and played college football for the Utah State Aggies, where he finished second in school history for passing yards and completions. [13][15]

Both teams were attempting to bounce back after recent defeats, as CBS Sports reported that Green Bay had previously lost 20 to 17 to the Detroit Lions, while Carolina had lost 43 to 13 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The win moved Green Bay to four wins and three losses on the season. [3][4]
