Staff at Irish broadcaster RTÉ were evacuated from their Dublin studios on Friday morning following a security alert. The Irish Examiner reported that a heavy garda presence was seen at the site in Donnybrook, Dublin 4. The news outlet added that other media organisations also received similar threats. [1]

The evacuation comes shortly after related security incidents linked to the city. As FTMQ News reported earlier, an Aer Lingus flight travelling from Dublin to Rome was forced to divert to an airbase in France following a bomb threat on Thursday. [4]

Dublin lies on a flat plain divided into northern and southern sides by the River Liffey. The city has served as a central hub in Ireland since its historical development began with 9th century Viking settlements. [3]
