An Aer Lingus Airbus A320 travelling from Dublin to Rome diverted to Evreux airbase in France on Thursday following a bomb alert. The Daily Mail and Daily Beirut both reported that the office of French Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu confirmed the diversion, with the Daily Mail adding that the Prime Minister's office is monitoring the situation. [1][10]

The incident follows a series of bomb threats targeting European airlines. France 24 and AirInsight both reported earlier in the week that bomb threats had hit European carriers over consecutive days, with France 24 reporting that a threat led to the closure of an airport near Warsaw. As FTMQ News reported earlier, several flights were forced to make emergency landings on Tuesday, including a Dublin flight escorted into Rome by Italian fighter jets. [1][8][9][17]

The Daily Mail reported that at least seven flights were targeted on Tuesday morning, with some forced to alter their routes. The paper noted that these incidents have caused widespread disruption and emergency landings across the continent over recent days. [1]

France encompasses territory in Western Europe bordering Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Monaco, Spain, and Andorra. Aer Lingus operates the Airbus A320 model, a aircraft family that includes the A321 variant. [1][12][15]
