Republicans gained ground in several undecided House elections on Friday, the New York Post reported. The Associated Press called 254 races for Democrats and 162 for Republicans by Friday afternoon, with 19 seats remaining uncalled. Earlier reporting from Politico noted that Democrats had reached at least 250 House seats, while CBS News reported that Democrats have flipped more than 40 seats. [1][8][9]

The latest victories for Republicans included representative Jeff Hurd in Colorado, Mark Lamb in Arizona, and Anthony Constantino in New York, the New York Post reported. Constantino ran to succeed retiring Republican representative Elise Stefanik in the 21st Congressional District of upstate New York. [1]

In Texas, Democrat James Talarico defeated Ken Paxton by more than 12 percentage points, moxie.foxnews.com reported. This victory came amid broader democratic gains across key states, as FTMQ News reported earlier, where Democrats secured major wins in gubernatorial and Senate contests. [6][13][14]

Thirteen Democratic members of the House sent a letter to Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Friday demanding an immediate end to security assistance and military cooperation with Ecuador, UPI reported. The lawmakers cited growing authoritarianism under President Daniel Noboa, alleged human rights abuses, and extrajudicial military strikes on drug-smuggling vessels in the eastern Pacific Ocean. [4]
