A private school teacher has defended giving a vulnerable pupil books containing pictures of sex, nudity, and drugs, the Daily Mail reported. Fiona Simpson taught A-level photography at Burlington House School in Fulham, west London, where fees are £51,552 a year. She argued that the pupils are young adults rather than primary school children. [1]

Burlington House School caters to pupils with special educational needs and advertises teaching tailored to the individual, according to the Daily Mail. Ms Simpson worked at the school on a part-time basis between November 2022 and March. [1]

The Advanced Level, or A-level, is a subject-based qualification taken in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland. Students who take A-levels are typically aged 16 to 18 following the completion of their GCSEs. [3]
