Los Angeles mayoral candidate Nithya Raman has dismissed a part-time staff member, the New York Post reported. Political influencer Eric Cheng was removed from his role after posting a video that claimed former Michigan Senate candidate Haley Stevens attempted to brainwash Black voters. [1]
According to the New York Post, Eric Cheng had worked with the campaign to coordinate relationships with content creators before his removal. The campaign confirmed that Cheng was dismissed following the release of the video. [1]
Raman currently serves as the Los Angeles city councilmember for the 4th district, a role she has held since 2020. She defeated incumbent David Ryu in 2020 and won re-election in 2024. As FTMQ News reported earlier, Raman is challenging incumbent Mayor Karen Bass in the election scheduled for November 3. [7][8][9]
The mayoral contest features Bass, who has served as mayor of Los Angeles since 2022, facing off against Raman. As FTMQ News reported earlier, the two candidates are making their final campaign pushes as voters prepare to decide who will manage the city. [8][9]
