Natalia Silva claimed the Ultimate Fighting Championship women's flyweight title at UFC 332 in Salt Lake City, Utah, on Saturday, according to CBS Sports and ESPN. Silva fought Wang Cong for the vacant belt, CBS Sports and ESPN reported. Former champion Valentina Shevchenko warned Silva on social media not to get too comfortable with the title, Yahoo Sports and MMA Fighting reported. [1][2][3][6][7][8]

ESPN reported that UFC 332 featured a record nine first-round knockouts and 11 total finishes across the fight card. CBS Sports noted that the event took place at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City. CBS Sports and ESPN both reported that Silva secured a unanimous decision victory over Wang. [6][7]

Silva is a Brazilian professional mixed martial artist who previously held the flyweight championship in the Jungle Fight promotion, while Shevchenko is a former two-time UFC women's flyweight champion from Kyrgyzstan and Peru. As FTMQ News reported earlier, Shevchenko was originally scheduled to fight Silva but withdrew from the bout due to back and shoulder injuries, leaving the flyweight title vacant for Silva and Wang. [12][14][16]

Following the victory, UFC chief executive officer Dana White and several professional fighters reacted to Silva's title win, Yahoo Sports and MMA Fighting reported. Shevchenko signaled her intention to seek a match to regain the championship belt. [1][8][13]
