Natalia Silva defeated China's Wang Cong by unanimous decision to claim the vacant women's flyweight championship at UFC 332 in Salt Lake City, BBC Sport and Yahoo Sports reported. TNT Sports incorrectly described the contest as a featherweight title match. [1][2][9]

The Brazilian athlete extended her winning streak to 15 bouts with a five-round victory at the Delta Center, according to BBC Sport and Yahoo Sports. As FTMQ News reported earlier, Valentina Shevchenko previously vacated the title after withdrawing from a scheduled fight against Silva last month due to injury. [1][5][16][17]

The fight card in Salt Lake City set a record with nine first-round knockouts and recorded 11 total finishes across the event, ESPN reported. [3]

Following her victory, Silva stated that God gave her the opportunity to win the belt, according to BBC Sport. As FTMQ News reported earlier, former champion Valentina Shevchenko issued a warning to Silva after the bout telling her not to get comfortable. [1][17]
