First lady Melania Trump will host representatives from Russia and Ukraine at the White House on Thursday for peace talks, the New York Post reported. The Kyiv Independent, Sky News, and The Independent also reported that the first lady is hosting officials from both nations at the White House. The meeting aims to build upon a limited cease-fire in the Ukrainian city of Oleshky, according to the New York Post. [1][8][9][10]

The New York Post reported that Melania Trump previously announced an October 23 cease-fire in Oleshky. That agreement enabled nearly 800 people to escape after spending years under bombardment in the Ukrainian-held enclave situated along the Dnieper River, according to the New York Post. Meanwhile, CNBC reported that Russia has confirmed new peace talks scheduled in Abu Dhabi next week and has signaled a possible summit involving Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin, and Xi Jinping. Melania Trump is an American and Slovenian former model who serves as the first lady of the United States. As FTMQ News reported earlier, trilateral peace negotiations involving delegations from the United States, Russia, and Ukraine were previously scheduled to take place in Abu Dhabi to discuss post-war security, de-escalation, and humanitarian efforts.
