Liverpool host reigning Premier League champions Arsenal at Anfield on Sunday at 16:30 GMT, BBC News reported. BBC News and the Daily Mail both reported that Liverpool are building momentum under manager Andoni Iraola ahead of the fixture. [1][2]

Arsenal have not won a match at Anfield since 2012, according to BBC News. Current Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta played for the London club during that victory, BBC News reported. [1]

BBC News reported that Liverpool have suffered only one defeat so far this season, which came against Manchester. The Daily Mail noted that the club is recovering after a difficult previous season when its title defence faltered. [1][2]

Anfield's famous Kop stand was turned into a single-tiered seated area in 1994 and holds more than 12,000 supporters. As FTMQ News reported earlier, midfielder Florian Wirtz signed for Liverpool from Bayer Leverkusen in June 2025 for a club record transfer fee. [11][12]

A victory for Liverpool on Sunday would increase discussion around their chances in the Premier League title race, according to the Daily Mail. [2]
