A railway engineer could be forced to rip up part of his driveway after losing a court battle with his neighbours in Leicestershire. The Daily Mail reported that Piers Connor and his partner Professor Christine Pasquire lost a legal dispute concerning a 4.5-foot-wide strip of land. [1]
The conflict began after Connor and Pasquire constructed a driveway in 2017 to connect their £615,000 home to a horse paddock. According to the Daily Mail, the couple installed paving slabs across an entrance arc to widen the path by 4.5 feet so that large vehicles could drive through more easily. However, a doctor living nearby accused the engineer of carrying out a land grab over the paving slabs. [1]
Property boundary disputes of this nature have arisen in other parts of the United Kingdom. As FTMQ News reported earlier, a couple in Surbiton lost a four-year legal dispute in October 2026 after claiming their neighbours built a kitchen extension over a 48cm land boundary. [3]
Following the court ruling against him, the Daily Mail reported that Connor faces the prospect of being forced to dismantle the newly paved section of the driveway. [1]
