LeBron James Makes Scrimmage Debut for Philadelphia 76ers

LeBron James made his first appearance on court for the Philadelphia 76ers during the team's public Blue x White Scrimmage on Saturday, according to NBA.com and Yahoo Sports. Public address announcer Matt Cord introduced the 41 year old forward in the team's starting lineup. The appearance marked the first time in eight years that James wore something other than a Los Angeles Lakers jersey on an NBA court, Yahoo Sports reported. [1][2][3][4][7]

ESPN reported that James described the scrimmage as a great first step for the new look Philadelphia team. Speaking after the event, James stated that he remains uncertain about his exact offensive role with the team after nearly a week of practice, but added that he is willing to adapt to whatever the team needs, according to Yahoo Sports. Yahoo Sports also reported that James left his first 76ers training camp practice by helicopter as his routine between Philadelphia and New York began. As FTMQ News reported earlier, James played in the scrimmage as part of preparations for the 2026 to 2027 NBA season. [6][13]

James is the NBA all time leading scorer, having surpassed Kareem Abdul Jabbar in February 2023 before becoming the first player to reach 43,000 regular season points in February 2026 [11, 12]. He has won four NBA championships across his career with the Miami Heat, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Los Angeles Lakers [12]. [11][12]
