Kansas father honours six year old son killed in soccer game crash

Chris Adrian, a coach from McPherson, Kansas, paid tribute to his six year old son Cole at a funeral service on Monday. The Guardian reported that Cole Adrian died after a woman drove through a soccer game at a park in Wichita, Kansas, on October 17. [1]

According to the Guardian, Chris Adrian spoke through tears to remember his son as an energetic child who loved life and captured the heart of everyone he met. He shared that Cole often told his family that it was the best day ever, even on days when nothing special happened. [1]

The crash occurred at the Stryker Sports Complex in Wichita, a city known for aircraft assembly and manufacturing in its region. As FTMQ News reported earlier, first responders treated the scene as a mass casualty incident after a driver killed two people and injured 10 others, including five children. [5][7]

As FTMQ News reported earlier, six year old Cole Adrian and 35 year old Nicholas Schafer were killed in the crash. Police arrested the 34 year old female driver at the scene, though a former law enforcement investigator later raised concerns when no charges were immediately filed. [7][8]
