A former detective has questioned why law enforcement officials have not filed charges against a driver who killed two people and injured several others at a soccer complex in Wichita, Kansas. Fox News reported that former detective Jamie Copenhaver criticized the lack of clarity from authorities regarding the investigation. [1]
According to Fox News, investigators said a mother drove onto an active field at the Stryker Sports Complex while children and families were present. Copenhaver, a former Florida sheriff's detective who previously worked with an FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force, stated that law enforcement needed to do a better job explaining why charges have not been brought. As FTMQ News reported earlier, the crash killed six year old Cole Adrian and 35 year old Nicholas Schafer, and injured ten other people, including five children. Police arrested the 34 year old female driver at the scene after the incident occurred around 3:25 p.m. local time, with two juveniles inside her vehicle. [4][5]
Wichita is the most populous city in Kansas, and the city serves as a major manufacturing hub for aircraft assembly. [2][3]
