A court has released CCTV footage showing former police officer Beau Lamarre-Condon ordering fast food and visiting stores after he allegedly killed a Sydney couple. The Guardian and ABC News Australia reported that the footage shows the 31 year old using a hired white van to move after the alleged double murder. AAP News and Daily Mail also covered the release of the video evidence in the ongoing trial. [1][2][3][4]
The Guardian reported that Lamarre-Condon is accused of fatally shooting Jesse Baird and Luke Davies with his police service weapon in the Paddington home of Baird on 19 February 2024. He has pleaded not guilty to two counts of murder and one charge of aggravated break and enter. ABC News Australia said that nearly five hours of CCTV footage released by the New South Wales court shows what prosecutors say are alleged attempts to cover up the crimes. [1][2]
According to the Guardian, the footage shows Lamarre-Condon visiting a McDonald's drive-thru in the van allegedly used to dispose of two bodies, as well as visiting three separate Bunnings stores and attending a hospital. ABC News Australia added that he was seen surrounded by shoppers at multiple Bunnings stores, picking out supplies and making cash purchases in the days following the deaths. [1][2]
Baird was an Australian television presenter and Australian rules football goal umpire. As FTMQ News reported earlier, a witness previously testified that Lamarre-Condon asked a friend to dispose of a mobile phone the day after the alleged murders. Earlier trial evidence also revealed that Lamarre-Condon played a Taylor Swift song about disposing of bodies while driving a van. [5][8][9]
