National Football League player Joe Mixon expressed his grief following a private airplane crash in Florida that killed all nine people on board on Sunday. The New York Post and the Daily Mail both reported that Mixon posted a statement on social media stating he was devastated by the accident. Mixon stated that he had flown on the exact same Learjet aircraft just last month with the same two pilots. [1][2]

According to the Daily Mail, the aircraft plummeted 27,000 feet in one minute before it crashed in Palm Beach. The New York Post reported that Mixon praised the two pilots of the flight as incredible professionals and genuinely wonderful people. Mixon expressed his sympathy for all nine victims who lost their lives in the tragedy. [1][2]

As FTMQ News reported earlier, the Learjet was traveling from Austin, Texas, to the Bahamas when it crashed in Palm Beach County, Florida. Previous reports by FTMQ News noted that the copilot texted her boyfriend about turbulence and ice ten minutes prior to the crash. Joseph Tyler Mixon is an American professional football running back who played college football for the Oklahoma Sooners and was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2017 draft before playing for the Houston Texans. [6][10][11]

The aircraft involved was a Learjet, a line of business jets developed originally by the Swiss American Aviation Corporation and later produced by Bombardier Aerospace until production ended in 2021. As FTMQ News reported earlier, the National Transportation Safety Board is continuing its investigation into the cause of the fatal crash. [7][10][11]
