James Carville criticizes Haley Stevens after endorsement of Republican Mike Rogers

Democratic strategist James Carville criticized Democratic Representative Haley Stevens after she endorsed Republican candidate Mike Rogers over Democrat Abdul El-Sayed in the Michigan Senate race, according to the New York Post and Breitbart News. Carville stated that Stevens ended her political career and claimed that Republicans would view her as a used condom. [1][8][10]

The endorsement follows a public rift within the Democratic party shortly before Election Day. CBS News and AP News both reported that Stevens endorsed Rogers, while Al Jazeera reported that Stevens was heckled as a traitor after making the announcement. [1][4][5][7]

As FTMQ News reported earlier, El-Sayed narrowly defeated Stevens in Michigan's August Democratic Senate primary election. The two politicians clashed over outside advertisements concerning Israel, leading El-Sayed to disinvite Stevens from scheduled campaign events. [11][12]

The endorsement drew widespread criticism from Democratic leaders. According to AP News, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer called the endorsement a despicable betrayal, and Axios reported that Stevens faces a push for her removal from the House Democratic caucus. [4][5]
