An internal Republican survey obtained by the New York Post shows Democratic Governor Kathy Hochul leading Republican challenger Bruce Blakeman by 4.4 percentage points. The survey by On Message Inc. places Hochul at 50.3 percent support and Blakeman at 45.9 percent in the New York gubernatorial race. [1]
Fox News reported that Blakeman campaigned on the New York City subway system on Monday. Blakeman criticized Hochul, calling her the most pro-criminal governor, and promised to add more police and conductors on trains. [2]
The survey was conducted for Republican Saritha Komatireddy, who is running for attorney general. As FTMQ News reported earlier, the same survey showed Democratic Attorney General Letitia James leading Komatireddy by six percentage points, 50.7 percent to 44.7 percent. [1][3]
The election context includes support from major donors. As FTMQ News reported earlier, New York Knicks owner James Dolan is funding a Super PAC named Strong and Safe New York to back Blakeman, who serves as the Nassau County executive. [4]
