Godolphin secures major victories in elite Australian and British horse races

Dubai-based racing operation Godolphin won three premier races across Australia and England on Saturday, UPI reported. The stable secured victory in The Everest in Australia before taking two major contests at British Champions Day just hours later. [1]

In Australia, the horse Tempted defeated the top-rated horse in the world to win The Everest, which UPI described as the world's richest turf race. Later in the day in Britain, Ombudsman and Talk of New York won the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes and the Champion Stakes. [1]

Hugh Anderson, director of racing for Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, told UPI that winning the Everest, QEII, and Champions Stakes in a single day would be hard to top in terms of pure class and quality. He added that Sheikh Mohammed watched the events from Dubai. [1]

The victories follow earlier preparations for the global horse racing calendar. As FTMQ News reported earlier, the Group I The Everest was a central fixture in Australia's spring carnival alongside major international turf races in North America and England. [5]
