French authorities deploy 70,000 security forces ahead of Halloween protests

France has deployed 70,000 police and security forces ahead of another weekend of potential unrest during Halloween. France 24 reported that demonstrators from the Yellow Vest movement plan to return to the streets under the rallying cry Act III Halloween. The National and Bloomberg.com also reported that French authorities are preparing for potential unrest and inflation-related protests on Halloween night. [1][2][4]

The government faces growing economic pressures while attempting to maintain public order. France 24 reported that the government is dealing with mounting grievances, a rolling protest movement, and high national debt ahead of upcoming elections. Student unions and the Yellow Vest movement called for the new demonstrations over inequality and the cost of living, as FTMQ News reported earlier.
