Four men stand trial for sexual assaults on woman drugged by husband

Four men have gone on trial charged with sexually assaulting a woman, Joanne Young, while she was sedated, restrained, and blindfolded in her family home. The Guardian reported that a jury of eight men and four women is hearing the trial of the four co-defendants. [1]

According to the Guardian, Ms Young discovered that her former husband had been drugging her for years and inviting men to assault her. Her former husband, named in the trial as Mr Young, who is 50 years old, has pleaded guilty to multiple charges of abuse against her after she waived her right to anonymity. [1]

The prosecution told the court that Ms Young’s world was tilted on its axis upon learning about the long-running abuse. As FTMQ News reported earlier in a related case involving a husband drugging his wife for outside attackers, a man previously pleaded guilty to assault by penetration at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court for an attack taking place in Stockport.
