Man admits sexually assaulting woman drugged by her husband

Sean Peers has admitted sexually assaulting a woman who had been drugged and abused by her husband without her knowledge, BBC News reported. Peers, aged 38, was scheduled to stand trial at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court but pleaded guilty to one count of assault by penetration. [1]

The victim's husband, who cannot be named for legal reasons to protect his wife's anonymity, is accused of inviting 13 other men to abuse her at their family home in Stockport, Greater Manchester. BBC News reported that the assault by Peers took place on 15 September 2024. [1]

The husband has already pleaded guilty to 60 offences committed against his wife. BBC News reported that he also admitted a fresh charge of rape and one charge of sexual assault. [1]
