Former Green party leader Adrian Ramsay has warned that the party must reform its internal democracy to prevent a takeover by the hard left, the Guardian reported. He stated that some new members who have joined the organization might be more at home in Your Party or the Socialist Workers party. [1]
According to the Guardian, Adrian Ramsay said a small number of individuals were employing divisive tactics to influence the party agenda. He also criticized how the party handled the controversy surrounding a motion passed at the Green party conference that declared Zionism is racism. [1]
As FTMQ News reported earlier, Green Party MP Ellie Chowns previously warned against capture by extremists after members voted to treat Zionism as a form of racism. That conference motion was passed by just over 1,000 members, representing roughly 0.4 percent of the party membership, which prompted Labour MPs to report the Green Party to the police. [5]
