Donald Trump claims he deserves the Nobel Peace Prize

United States President Donald Trump stated at the White House on Wednesday that he deserves to win the Nobel Peace Prize, according to reports by the Daily Mail, the South China Morning Post, Al Jazeera, and the Washington Examiner. Trump said that his actions helped end eight major wars and save millions of lives. The award will be announced on Friday. [1][2][3][4]

Trump acknowledged doubts about whether the selection committee will give him the award. Al Jazeera reported that Trump claimed it would be a great discredit to the committee if he is not chosen. The Daily Mail and the South China Morning Post noted that the remarks come despite ongoing warfare with Iran, stalled ceasefire talks between Washington and Tehran, and an unbrokered peace in Ukraine. In statements reported by the Washington Examiner, Trump insisted he secured the return of all hostages in Gaza and accomplished unprecedented achievements. He added that another conflict resolution is coming. Al Jazeera reported that Trump is among 287 candidates nominated for the prize this year, while the New York Post noted that several humanitarian organizations are favored instead. [3][4][6]

The Nobel Peace Prize was established by the Swedish inventor Alfred Nobel along with prizes in chemistry, physics, medicine, and literature. As FTMQ News reported earlier, American scientist Karl Deisseroth was among the recent recipients of the 2026 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine. [12][16]
