A stage adaptation of Dead Poets Society has sold out every performance at the Teatro da Trindade in Lisbon through the end of the year, Euronews reported. The play stars Diogo Infante as the inspirational English teacher John Keating, a role original created on film by Robin Williams. [1][2]

The theatrical production premiered in April and was originally scheduled to end its run in August, according to Euronews. High audience demand has forced organizers to extend the show twice, completing eight consecutive months of sold-out performances. [1]

The original 1989 American coming-of-age film was directed by Peter Weir and written by Tom Schulman. Produced by Touchstone Pictures on a budget of 16.4 million dollars, the movie grossed 235.8 million dollars worldwide and received four Academy Award nominations. [2][5]

Following the conclusion of its run at the Teatro da Trindade at the end of the year, the Portuguese stage production will embark on a nationwide tour, Euronews reported. [1]
