Criminal Minds Evolution to end with upcoming final season on Paramount Plus

The police drama series Criminal Minds Evolution will end on Paramount Plus with its upcoming final season, news outlets reported. UPI reported that the show will conclude after its fifth season on the streaming service. Variety, Deadline, and TVLine reported that this final run will be considered the twentieth season of the overall Criminal Minds franchise. [1][2][3][6]

Showrunner and executive producer Erica Messer expressed gratitude for the cast, writers, and directors following the announcement, according to UPI and Variety. Messer stated that it was difficult to put into words what the show has meant to those involved throughout its run. Variety reported that the nineteenth season aired between May and July, and the final twentieth season will air in 2027. [1][2]

The original Criminal Minds series was created by Jeff Davis and premiered on CBS on September 22, 2005. The show follows a team of criminal profilers working for the Federal Bureau of Investigation in its Behavioral Analysis Unit.
