United States President Donald Trump published a 1,300-word social media post criticizing television host Bill Maher on October 26, 2026. The New York Post, the Daily Express, and Forbes reported that Trump called Maher a complete and total loser in the post. CNN reported that the statement was the longest post Trump has ever made on Truth Social. [1][2][3][5]

The New York Post reported that Trump called Maher a goofball, a sleazebag, a coward, and a pothead, while also claiming the host looked bad during a recent dinner. Forbes also reported that Trump used the terms coward and pothead to describe Maher. The New York Post reported that Maher had recently stated on his show that Trump had low approval ratings and made jokes about the length of their recent dinner. [1][5]

The Daily Express reported that Trump defended former Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt in the post and noted that the two men have a history of public disputes, including a past lawsuit by Trump over a joke Maher made about his father. The Daily Express also noted that Trump had welcomed Maher to the White House shortly before making the post. [3]

As FTMQ News reported earlier, Trump hosted a dinner at the White House on October 15, 2026, with Maher, musician Kid Rock, and television personality Stephen A. Smith. Maher is an American television host and comedian who hosts the HBO talk show Real Time with Bill Maher, while Truth Social is an alt-tech social media platform owned by Trump Media and Technology Group.
