Bruce Springsteen and Tom Morello Lead Jam Session at Festival

Bruce Springsteen and Tom Morello led an all-star jam session to close the inaugural Power to the People Festival on Saturday night, Consequence reported. Springsteen first appeared on stage alone to sing Streets of Minneapolis, a protest song written for Renée Good and Alex Pretti. Joan Baez then joined him on stage to perform a cover of Chimes of Freedom by Bob Dylan. [1]

Morello joined Springsteen to perform The Clash song Clampdown alongside The Ghost of Tom Joad. Consequence reported that the set grew to include an eight-song lineup featuring guest appearances by Dave Grohl, Dave Matthews, Joan Baez, and Nathaniel Rateliff. [1]

As FTMQ News reported earlier, Tom Morello launched the Power to the People festival in October following the release of his album Everyone Gets Everything They Want. Earlier performances at the event included Serj Tankian joining Morello to perform Adjourn It and Like a Stone, which was dedicated to the late Chris Cornell. [5]

Musicians Taylor Momsen, Mike McCready, and Matt Cameron also performed a Soundgarden tribute set as Suns of Soundgarden at the festival, FTMQ News previously reported. Their set featured the song Spoonman, and Morello joined the group to talk about the impact Soundgarden had on hard rock and metal music. [6]
